What Causes Visible Blue Veins On Palm Along With Pain?
When I woke up this morning the veins in my right palm really blue and visible (first time that s happened) and the left side sorta hurt. The blueness went away over the day, but the side of my palm still hurts. Is there something wrong with my hand? I ve been writing a lot because of exams.
Visible blue veins along the palms are due to the change in color. The veins being abnormally stretched beneath the surface of the skin become blue and may be painful. With increased temperature, veins may dilate and expand. To ease the hurt apply ointment Soframycin lotion locally on the area affected.
Compression stockings may help to ease the discomfort. Sclerotherapy is effective treatment. You should get clinically examined by a GP to be on the safer side. Do regular exercises and walking. Avoid soaking yourself in warm/ hot water bath. Your treating doctor may recommend laser therapy if required.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
