What Causes Visible Vein On Upper Arm Post Injury?

Hi, my daughter had a fall yesterday and complained of her hand hurting. We gave her ibuprofen and then again another dose this morning. Now she seems to be going through with her normal activities, but we see a vein visible on her upper arm, the lower arm was what was hurt and where the pain was. Should we take her to a doctor. She does not complain of pain now.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If there is no pain or tenderness at the moment then you can consider monitoring her for now.

Dilation of blood vessels is not unusual at the site of trauma and should resolve.

I hope this helps

Thanks for asking Healthcaremagic Forum

In short: Normally veins are visible in light skinned people(that too females).

Explanation: According to your history, you have not mentioned whether your daughter has swelling/fracture or any wound. Whenever there is swelling veins may be visible due to stretching of skin.
You may consult your local doctor to relieve your anxiety for this problem. Good luck.
