What Causes Vision Loss In The Right Eye?

I am having issue with my right eye, and today it became difficult to see, cloudy and foggy, like looking through spider web, close my eye and see a kind of brightness with dots. Went to Urgent Care who sent me to ER. They both indicated that it sounds like issue with retina, possibly detached retina. What is done for retina issues?
