What Causes Vision Trouble In Both Eyes?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? My cousin he is 29 years old. Past 3 month he had vision problem in left eye....still not cured and the same problem started in right eye..however taking B12 injections made him relief of some vision ef 10%..doctors say its a genetic issue which doesnt have any cure..pls suggest

Hello. Thanks for posting your query.

If you have consulted an ophthalmologist, and after examination if it has been confirmed that nothing can be done, then you are mostly suffering from Macular/ Retinal Dystrophy, which is usually a genetic condition. Some dystrophies can also be progressive. Depending on how low your vision is, certain LVA ( Low-vision Aids ) might be of help. Unfortunately, this condition doesn't have any treatment. So i will recommend a genetic counselling before marriage, if you are not married yet. Also continue the B12 injection and anti-oxidant tablets which contain Lutein and Zeaxanthine. ( Tab. Vesoret/ Novoret ) once daily. Hope this helps.
