What Causes Voice Hoarseness And Burning Sensation In The Throat?
the past few months i ve been having a horseness in my voice for a day or 2 then I will actually loose my voice for 1 or 2 days. Sometimes I have a severe sore throat during this time and sometimes I don t. Most recently, just the past few days, I m having a burning feeling in my esophagus/ throat area. When having a drink or eating food, it bothers me more
The symptoms you explain may be due to acid reflux. You can take Omeprazole 40 mg 30 minutes before breakfast and also try to eat frequent small meals (avoid large meals) and also avoid food or drinks 3-4 hours before bedtime. You should avoid smoking, alcohol and do not use more than 2 coffees a day with the last one before 3 pm. Greasy food and fast food or spicy food may worsen the symptoms. Fruit and vegetables are healthy and can be used to help.
If the above measures do not bring an improvement in a couple of weeks, you will need a check with your doctor.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
