What Causes Vomiting After Consuming Expired Mayonnaise?

My husband opened a new jar of mayonnaise yesterday and used on a turkey sandwich. A few hours later he was throwing up and feeling bad. He looked at the expiration date on the jar and it was 2015. He is still sick today and still throwing up. Could this dated mayo cause this and what can we do...to start feeling better.

it's better he takes tab emeset 4mg half n hour before food...and try to avoid non veg food for few day's..he should be alright in couple of days...
