What Causes Vomiting Along With Hot Flashes And Shivering?

My mother is 61. Only Thursday night she said she was shivering and vomited multiple times. She has since vomited a few times, and alternates between shivering and felling extremely hot. She has fibro and CFS and is a diabetic. Tonight I had her check her blood sugar and she said it was 238. Should we go to urgent care tomorrow?

Hi welcome to the health care magic

For such presentation before labelling as viral infection, physical examination is needed to exclude other causes

Work up needed in following ways....
-CBC
-ESR
-Auscultation and Liver palpation with physical examination
-if sclera yellow than sgpt and sgot needs to be done
-neck stiffness should be ruled out
-if bleeding present than ns1 done for dengue
-PS examination of blood

If any specific cause present than treated accordingly

If needed antibiotic course might given

For vomiting take domperidone tablet

Take care

Consult physician for examination
