Thank you for contacting HCM.

nexpro - esomeprazole which is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to reduce acid reflux.

I am not sure why they gave you this medication. please let us know the reasons for giving this medication.

If your doctor suspect that your child has acid reflux please try Ranitidine. It is not very advisable to use PPI in children.

coming to your actual question. I am not sure if the medication itself causes vomiting and cough. if your child is not swallowing properly. it can go to the lung which can cause excessive cough which in turn causes vomitong.

it is common for kids to vomit after spells of cough.

please use Ranitidine for acid reflux than PPI.
