What Causes Vomiting And Diarrhea For My Daughter?
hi my daughter started vomiting since Saturday she drank a little bit of our younger babys milk (similac orange can sensitive on friday night) took her to her pediatrician on sunday she said stomach flu she is still gaggging with extreme diahrea to the point its just water yes ( drinking pedialite ,gatorade eating ,white rice ,bananas ,whiterice ,saltine crackers) but its still has gotten better
The stomach flu may last from 3-5 days and in rare cases up to a week. It is a viral infection and generally, it goes away on its own and no specific treatment is needed. It is important though that she gets oral rehydration solutions to substitute both water and electrolyte loss. These can be accessed over the counter in the pharmacy. You are already feeding her well. It is important to give her frequent small amounts of food to eat to prevent her from vomiting.
If she is not better in another 2-3 days or you notice any worsening or she is not able to keep fluids in (she is losing more fluids than she is taking in), she will need to be sent again to the doctor to check the need for intravenous fluids.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
