What Causes Vomiting And Diarrhea While On Hydrocodone?

I had 3 teeth extracted today. I felt fine came home and ate some mashed potatoes about 3 hours later I started vomiting and now have diarrhea. I am trying to stay hydrated but I can not keep anything down. I am not on antibiotic and I did not take any more hydrocodone after the vomiting started. I m just worried that the decay from the one tooth is causing me to be sick

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

May be the vomiting is due to reaction of the local anesthesia given during the procedure. It will subside on its own. If it's very severe and you are not able to consume anything orally then you may require hospitalization to treat dehydration.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Deepti Shivakumar
