General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Cranky is expected since she feels so unwell. If she is dehydrated, she should be seen by her doctor because she may need iv fluids. If dehydrated- skin may be dry, reduced urination, crying with no tears, increased heart rate.

The fluid loss would cause thirst but if she drinks a lot at a time, it would cause vomiting.

Normally sips of 1 to 2 tsp are advised every 5 mins for the first hour if this is tolerated that the amount of fluid can be increased.

A fluid that has both liquid and electrolytes such as Pedialyte, should be used. No crackers or any solid food till 4 hours with no vomiting.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
