Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My wife is experiencing vomiting and incontinence. She sleeps a great deal and her problems occur when she attempts to stand up. We were on a cruise ship ending Sunday, April 12. Her temp is normal. Her problem began with a cough two days ago but has now developed into the above described symptoms. Do you think she has the Noro Virus or something else?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Vomiting and incontinence can be caused by a variety of factors, including infection, medication side effects, gastrointestinal issues, neurological problems, and more. Your wife may have contracted a viral infection such as Norovirus, but it's important to have her evaluated by a healthcare provider to determine the underlying cause of her symptoms.
In addition to a physical exam, her provider may recommend laboratory tests, imaging studies, or other diagnostic procedures to help identify the cause of her vomiting and incontinence. Make sure she stays hydrated and seeks medical attention if her symptoms worsen or she develops any new symptoms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
