What Causes Vomiting And Lower Right Abdominal Pain Despite A Normal Ultrasound?

My son is 22 years of age, healthy otherwise adult, medium build, athletic, not overweight. He gets bouts of vomiting with a lower right abdominal pain, he has been ultra sounded, x rayed, GI scope, blood work,he dose not have anymore or anyless pain when pressure is put on the area in question, his vomit is bile, usually dark green or brownish, he has been to the emergency ward 15 days in a row, and is now dehydrated, and vomits appoximately every 3 -4 hours, with plenty of pain and heavy violent vomit ..... Im at a loss, the hospital says everything looks good, what are we missing, how can i help him. Jennifer

Oncologist 's  Response
Hello,

There are many things that can cause abdominal pain. Bowel (gut) problems – such as constipation or irritable bowel.

Mesenteric adenitis – the lymph nodes in the abdomen commonly enlarge due to viral infections. Problems that may require surgery – such as appendicitis or bowel obstruction.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Esmeralda Sera, Oncologist
