What Causes Vomiting And Pain In The Tailbone Area After Injury?
My 11 yr old daughter fell of her scooter yesterday around 2 pm, she fell on concrete and landed on her bottom, she fell so hard it knocked the wind out of her, today she has been very sore, it hurts to move especially to sit, 3 hours ago she started vomiting, she has had 3 doses of 8mg zophran which hasn t helped. Her tailbone area is very red and swollen, is the vomiting contected to the fall and should I take her to ER?
As per your history is concerned she needs a through neurological physical exam as such type of injury is associated with traumatic brain and spinal cord injury. If physical finding is positive then go for MRI or CT otherwise not required. Neurological Exam includes following- mental status cranial nerve testing motor function cerebellar function sensory testing deep tendon reflexes Thanks,
