What Causes Vomiting, Diarrhea And Chest Pain Post Chemotherapy?

I m on my last day of chemo (xeloda by mouth) and I am really feeling bad. I have pain in my arms and back, (more than usual), I have nausea and vomiting, diarrhea and severe abdominal pain. I have pain in my chest and feel short of breath. I slept all day yesterday and most of today but my pain keeps waking me up. Don know if I should wait to see my oncologist on Thursday or go to the ER. I have Stage 4 metastatic breast tthat has moved into my liver lungs and bones.

Hi,

In my opinion, you should visit ER for immediate relief of pain and nausea. Moreover, cause of diarrhea also needs to be looked up whether it is due to xeloda or due to infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Loveleen Sharma, General & Family Physician
