What Causes Vomiting, Diarrhea, Shivering After Taking Cytotec For Abortion?

Hi Dr, i had an abortion last week (about 7 week from my last menstruation/period) by taking 4 cytotec pill under my tongue for 30mins. Then, i was shilvering and vomitting (diarrhea) and after few hours, im bleeding like im having menstruation (not like im expecting, heavy bleeding). However, im still vomitting after taking the pill till now and i seem had lost my appetite this lately. I usually vomit if i smell something bad and after i ate food. Is it common for always vomitting after taking the pill? Or its show that my abortion is unsuccessful?

Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Vomiting, diarrhoea and shivering are the common side effects of misoprostol tablet( cytotec) . However, these side effect wean off after 1 day of the drug intake.
Since you are still having vomiting, it is most probably not due to misoprostol.
I would suggest you to get a ultrasound done to confirm that the abortion is complete and consult a physician to get properly examined, investigated and treated for the vomiting.
