Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Vomiting Due To Muscle Spasms During Bowel Movement?
okay, this stumping my docs and it doesn t seem to be a serious issue, but, occasionally, when I am passing stool, I vomit. I ve had a kidney transplant and take 4 different blood pressure mess and the immuno-suppressants. Also supplemental potassium and magnesium. I have a problem with loose stools, tend more to diarrhea, and the vomit comes as a muscle spasm.
As per my clinical experience, the vomiting and diarrhea are in concern with the side effect of the immuno suppressant medications used for the post operative recovery of the kidney transplant patient. My guidelines for the better recovery: - Discuss the dose adjustment of the immuno-suppressive therapy with your oncologist during next scheduled visit - Consume more liquids in sessions - Anti-emetic as ondancetron tablet with sips of water on empty stomach - GI flora support with lacto bacillus 2 sachets twice a day - Control of blood sugar and electrolytes
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
