What Causes Vomiting, Headache And Fever While Suffering From Stomach Infection?

Started stomach virus 1/24 with severe vomiting, fever, headache and then diarhhea. Vomiting stopped approx 15 hrs later. Fever stopped 2 days later. Still have diarrhea with intestinal pain right before movement. Have tried Immodium, BART diet, Pepto Bismol and Gaviscon. Have noticed the pain doesn t bother me when sitting up. Gets worse when I lie down, and at night in bed. I have to relieve myself to make it go away.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

This looks to be a sort of mild infection in your intestine if diarrhea is still there. Infection may be protozoal or bacterial , but it should be considered if there is diarrhea and pain in abdomen. I would advise you see your doctor to assess you, he may run some tests if needed to confirm and then give you antibiotics if appropriate. Till that I would say you should take lot of fluid not to dehydrate.
