What Causes Vomiting , Nausea And Constipation During 13 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
I am pregnant and extremely constipated. I am about 13 weeks pregnant, and for about 8 weeks I ve only been able to have a bowel movement about once a week. Even then, it s very small and difficult to push out. All the info I ve found says to ingest more fiber, drink 8 glasses of water a day, etc. The problem is that I have severe nausea and frequent vomiting (to the point that I had to get a fluid IV at urgent care). I can only keep down small amounts of liquid at a time, and most foods don t sit well in my stomach (they make me vomit almost immediately). I have also tried Metamucil (approved by OB), but I vomit that up as well. I am worried that this is becoming a very serious problem or that I might be damaging my digestive system by letting this continue (am I?). Do you have any suggestions to try?
Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion the nausea, vomitings, constipation are routinely seen in pregmancy. The excessive vomitings cause fluid loss which inturn leads to constipation.Along with high fibre diet,3 litres of water per day laxatives are very much important because passing motion once a week is not advisable.Agiolax is a laxative which works well. Dont worry it will be subside.Take adequate fluids, fruit juices, coconut water to rehydrate. Best regards...dr.srilatha
