What Causes Vomiting On Intake Of Ferrium During Pregnancy?

Hello, I am 4 months pregnant. My doctor prescribed me ferrium xt tablet. When i take the tablet ,after sometime i vomit. Doctor told me to not take the tablet for one week. After one week after taking the tablet I again vomit. Is there any tablet which i can take instead of this?

Thank you for your question!

It seems that your stomach is very sensible to the iron tablets you take.
Even though the iron needs are higher during pregnancy you don't have to take iron if your iron levels in the body are normal.
You can measure level of iron and hemoglobin before starting iron.

If you need it, i would recommend you ferrous sulfate in gastro-resistant tablets which don't harm your stomach so the side effect will be smaller.

Take the tablet after at least one hour after the meal and with a lot of water to diminish side effects.
