What Causes Vomiting Post Intake Of Nordette 21?

My partner took Nordette 21 (All white pills) 5 hours after intercourse. 4 pills then another 4 after 12 hours. But after the 2nd dose of 4 pills she vomitted after about 3 hours. I understand from looking at other responses on this site related to these pills that the active ingredient should absorb within the 1st 30 minutes. We should be alright yeah?

Hi,

Nordette-21 contains two hormones a progestin and an estrogen. Taken in larger doses (4 pills twice and 12 hrs apart) can cause nausea, vomiting headache, heavy or irregular bleeding.

Since she started vomiting 3 hours after taking the pills on second dose, by that time the active medicines have already absorbed into her blood to exert the contraceptive effect.

So, there is no need to worry however her vomiting can be controlled by certain anti-emetic medications such as ondansetron or meclizine.
