What Causes Vomiting When Diagnosed With Stomach Flu?

Hi. I was sick with stomach flu two days ago and when I vomited it went up my nose . The next day it felt like there was something stuck up either in my nose or up behind soft palate. Is it possible that food is lodged back there ? I am not gagging or choking and am eating fine. I can blow my nose fine but it is intermittantly burning.
