What Causes Vomiting Yellow Liquid When Diagnosed With Bulimia?
Hi, I am a 23 year old female who has had bulimia for 4 years now. I am not throwing up purposefully anymore but I am still abusing laxatives. Sometimes when I take them, I vomit a yellow liquid in the the middle of the night. It is starting to really scare me. What could this be? I haven t found any others who have experienced this.
In bulimia, due to frequent and repeated purging there occurs relaxation of lower esophagus and splinter. It causes the stomach contents often reflux into the mouth. Also, spontaneously vomiting is commonly reported in bulimia.. Due to excessive vomiting, bringing up of bile is noted ( might be rupture of bile duct). I advise you to keep yourself hydrated & take healthy nutrition.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya Vasudevan, General & Family Physician
