What Causes Warm Sensation In Chest Over ICD Insertion Area?

My mother is 69 years old with multiple heart and lung issues. Has a one-lead ICD. Occasionally in A-Fib. Occasionally has brief moments of a warming sensation over the left chest, in the area of the ICD. Feels like someone placed a hotpack over the area, only lasts a couple of minutes. Was wondering if this could be a nerve response or even panic attack?

Thanks for your question on HCM. ICD insertion creats hole and passage in chest wall, muscles and pleura. So once it is removed ,the entire area heals by scarring and fibrosis. Pleura also at the site of puncture becomes thick, and this thick pleura sometimes cause pain and warm sensation. So no need to worry as this sensation is normal after ICD removal. I suggest you to go for ultrasound examination of local part ( ICD site) for presence of pleural thickening.
