What Causes Watering In Eyes Along With Occasional Pain?

Hi my son was poked in the eye by another boy this morning. Initially he seemed in some pain/discomfort and could not open his eye and it was constantly watering. It has eased since and he can now open but it still waters and he has occasional pain. Do I need to take him to a&he tonight or can it wait until the morning?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It seems that he might be having some injury in his eye and particularly in his cornea giving this problem.
It might create big problem if there is ulcer in cornea.
Consult ophthalmologist and get him examined.
Meanwhile put antibiotic eye drops 2-3 hourly.
Ask him not rubbing his eye.
Ok and take care.
