General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Mild alterations in the periods can be expected on usage of permanent contraceptive devices.

However, if you are having severe bloating and cramps, kindly consult a gynaecologist for for ultrasonography to rule out any disturbance in the position of the implant.

Also , you can take antipasmodic medications like mefenamic acid and dicyclomine combination to decrease the cramps.

Hope this helps.
Regards,
Dr.Riyanka
