What Causes Watery Discharge And Bleeding After A Caesarian Delivery?
Hx: had a 10 lb. baby in July after having last child 10 yrs.( previous babies were large and all delivered vaginally with 0 problems) earlier. Had labor: baby was high and not descending, could not dilate past 9 with a rim at 3:00 area. Had c-section, everything went fine with 0 infections and 0 pain. At this point I continue to have a discharge, sometimes thin watery, sometimes yellow. I can't exercise because I start to bleed again atleast for 3-4 days after. I use the treadmill and do hill then i spot. With regular non-challenging walk I don't spot. Had a swabs and pap test done in October and the doctor said everything looked fine, but the results came back with not an adequate sample and could not provide a reliable result and said to have another in 3 mths. Can I assume the doctor did not see my cervix if he didn't collect a good sample? One doctor told me it is my hormones I believed him but now I'm starting to get concerned?
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. Since you have had a big baby, this also means that your uterus had to stretch more than the usual. Thus the lochial discharge may be prolonged. Also, after a cesarean section, it is preferable not to have heavy exercise until the scar heals satisfactorily and this takes six months. So, please do continue with stress-free exercises, but avoid heavy work out.It is true that hormone imbalances can cause similar picture, but spotting on exertion goes more in favor of polyps. A sonogram should be helpful. Do repeat the pap smear as advised. Inadequate sample can be seen when the technique is not proper. The brush technique should be used for sample collection. Hope this helps.
