Hi,

To my opinion the watery eye and the "shadow in the back of the eye" are two different things. The watery eye can be due to dry eye or due to allergic reaction called allergic conjuctivitis. You can use some artificial tear and also oral Loratadine 10 mg at night to help with them.

As for the "shadow at the back of the eye", this might be cataract in the lens or some lesion he has noticed in the retina (the area that senses the light). You will need a slit lamp examination which is generally done by an oculist to determine the nature of the condition and proper treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
