Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I HAVE A WEAK/SLOW URINATION ISSUE. I DO NOT HAVE PAIN OR A UTI. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS CAN BE. I HAVE DIABETES. I HAVE RECENTLY SEEN A KIDNEY SPECIALIST WHO PUT ME ON MEDICATION. I HAVE MENTIONED MY PROBLEM WITH BOTH THE SPECIALIST AND MY MAIN DOCTOR.
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
If you are female then it may be causes by urethral stenosis or bladder infection. If you are male then these symptoms indicate in most cases prostate issues such as prostatitis or hypertrophy and rarely it may be sign of STD infection.
You should avoid intercourse for till symptoms persist and drink plenty of fluids. If symptoms persist it would be good to do prostate ultrasound and check your PSA levels to rule out prostate tumor or hypertrophy and further treatment depends on these findings. In most cases it can be controlled with medications but sometimes, open surgery is required. And severe benign hypertrophy may be managed endoscopically so you should consult urologist about appropriate options if diagnosis is established.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
