What Causes Weakness And Numbness On Left Shoulder Post Nerve Conduction Study?

I had a Nerve Conduction study done on both lets from behind the knees to the bottom of my feet yesterday afternoon. I noticed some weakness and slight numbness from my left shoulder to my hand late last night, an it remains 27 hours after the test. Is this a possible side effect?

Hello,

As such no major side effects are reported after nerve conduction velocity test. But you may feel a little pain or cramping during an EMG test. A tingly feeling, like a mild electric shock, during a nerve conduction study is often experienced. At the point where the needle was injected you may get an infection or bleeding.

Since now you are experiencing weakness and numbness on the left shoulder post- NCV test, you are suggested to get a follow up clinical examination done so that you can be treated for the cause at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
