Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Weakness And Pain Around The Arm,elbow And Wrist Area?
I've had an ache/weakness in my left arm for the past 5 days. it radiates from my left shoulder all the way down to my fingertips, with particular painful points being the around the elbow and wrist. I've not hurt my arm in any way, and being only 21 am hoping/assuming that i dont have heart disease. Oddly, when i'm relaxed, such as the first few hours of the morning, it doesnt pose that much of an issue, but as the day wears on it gets worse. I've tried making an appointment with my local GP, but they were fully booked - should i be worried?
Do you have history of neck pain or neck trauma. This looks like a neurological issue. Probably your nerve must be compressed somewhere most probably in the cervical spine. You'll need x-ray cervical spine ap/lat view and may be MRI later. Till the time you can have tab neurobion forte which is a nerve vit. If it doesn't respond I also prescribe to my patients in clinic a tab pregabalin. You can ask your GP for these medicines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Sagar Makode
