What Causes Weakness And Sore Muscles While On Losartan-HCTZ?

I was prescribed Losartan HTCZ 50 mg/12.5 mg. I felt too fatigued and weak from taking 1 tablet so I started cutting in half and then thirds. I still feel some weakness and muscle soreness. I feel as if I have taken an alcoholic drink after I take this med. Any suggestions?

Losartan can cause fatigue and muscle soreness.This effect is seen due to accumulation of a chemical called bradykynin.It needs certain period for these effects to develop.But in your case you say you got all these effects with 1 dose only.It is least possible with 1 dose.Also,May I ask you have you consulted physician for your problems before reducing the dosage of your drug?Have you reduced the dose of drug under physician's consultation?If it is not so ,what I recommend is don't take any step related to your prescribed drugs by yourself.It can be dangerous.The cause of your fatigue and muscle soreness may be different.Let physician decide it,whether it is due to medication or any other underlying medical cause.In case of any suspected underlying medical cause,he/she may advice you for basic blood investigations.
