What Causes Weakness In Hand, Lightheadedness And Headaches?

Hi. My husband is 37 years-old and is experiencing weaknes in left hand, light headed, red face and sometimes gets headaches like twice a week. He runs his own auto shop business which has expanded, but right now has employees that are not reliable. He runs a church as well, as a Pastor. I personally think he is overworked and is affecting his health. He has had in the past temporary paralysis of the corner of his mouth and eye twice already. I'm really concerned and would appreciate any advice thank you. YYYY@YYYY

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Episodic lightheadedness, weakness in hands, redness of face etc symptoms can be occurring due to his work stress. He has expanded the business and is also running a church and this proves he is over working. This work stress is probably resulting in anxiety like attacks in episodes. So these should not be ignored. Visit a psychiatrist for proper evaluation and help.

For such episodic anxiety best treatment is to take rest from work at least a day or two per week. This would help to reduce these episodes. Medicines like low dose benzodiazepines as Clonazepam, Lorazepam would help to reduce these symptoms when used on SOS basis. Even after this symptoms persist then please consult a psychiatrist for help.
