What Causes Weakness In Legs Along With Loss Of Bladder Control In A Diabetic Patient?

I took my husband to the doctor this afternoon because he thought he might have the flu. Blood work showed high white cell count but really nothing else. Dr. put him on Levaquin. He has had one dose so far. He is now experiencing severe weakness in his legs and lost control of his bladder along with sweating. He received a kidney in 2012 and is diabetic and had quadruple bypass surgery in 2009. He has been pretty healthy after all of the above , until now.

Hello There

After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that urinary tract infection is very common in diabetic patients and prostate enlargement can also cause urine incontinence. Kindly continue with antibiotic and get a ultrasound done to check for prostate status.

Hopefully this information will guide you properly.

Kind Regards
Dr Bhanu Partap
