What Causes Weakness In Legs And Numbness In Feet While Walking?

My legs get tired quickly and I can t walk very far without waddling from side to side and needing to rest. I feel like I am walking on rolled up socks on the souls of my feet and I experience numbness and tingling in my feet. Multiple scans indicate nothing is wrong with my circulatory system.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If investigations have shown no issues with the circulation, then it is possible that your symptoms may be related to the nervous system instead.

Peripheral neuropathy, which is abnormal function of the peripheral nervous system (nerves outside the brain and spinal cord) can cause the symptoms that you are experiencing.

This can be due to different causes.
Some causes include: (1) diabetes
(2)trauma to the nerves, this can be in the back or along their path in the lower limbs
(3)liver or kidney disease
(4)side effect of medications
(5)exposure to toxins
(6)vitamin b12 or folate deficiency
(7)nerve conditions such as ms or stroke, other nerve related conditions can also occur
(8)infection
(9)idiopathic- cause is not known
(10) hormonal conditions such as thyroid disease
(11)autoimmune disease such as lupus, RA etc

A neurological examination would be helpful.

Blood tests for the above conditions would determine if any of these are present.

Treatment would depend somewhat on the cause found though are general meds used for nerve related symptoms.

I hope this helps
