What Causes Weakness In Legs/arms While Having Slip Disc?

hello , im doing this on behalf of my father , he seems to be very run down all of a sudden and has slip disks in his back and a very red ear and throat but all of a sudden he is very tired the past few days and he feels as if his legs and arms are very weak ?
