I have been diagnosed with Inflammatory bowel disease and take the medication Pentasa to prevent future flare ups. However I have noticed over the past 6 months and more so since I have been taking Pentasa that I , after exertion become weak in the legs, coordination and balance issues and feel these episodes bring about also a feeling of removed consciousness .

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your symptoms of coordination balance weakness of your legs during exertion following inflammatory bowel disease I am suggesting that you developed a Cerebellar ataxia with a rheumatoid arthritis to rule out Myositis

In view of this please do the following test
Rheumatoid factor
ANA electrophoresis
Serum creatine kinase
Serum electrolytes
Blood culture
Stool culture
Mucosa biopsy

Meanwhile please see a gastroenterologist and neurologist specialist for expert clinical evaluation as well as adequate drug prescription

I hope this helps Regards
