What Causes Weakness In Right Hand And Discomfort In Arms?

I am experiencing weakness in my right hand, particularly my grip. I do feel some discomfort in my arm, but nothing major. Could this be carpel tunnell? I am a diabetic - type 2. In recent weeks I had a considerable pain in my shoulder & around my shoulder blade - again my right hand side. Could these be connected?
