What Causes Weakness In Right Leg Despite Transplanting Muscle?

Hi, I am 59 years old and I had muscle transplant from my strong left leg to my right weak leg in 1993 at UCLA. After the transplant my right leg is getting bigger and I can walk much better than before. Now I feel that the right leg becomes weaker every day. Please help. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, your leg and the transplanted muscle is getting weak. I would suggest you to contact your doctor and get your EMG of this muscle done to look for the strength of the muscle. If it’s normal then you need to get good physiotherapy to be done to restore its lost power.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
