What Causes Weakness In The Legs Along With Dizziness?

Hi, I am a 77 year old male, in excellent health. I exercise regularly, hike, and in the cooler weather, I run and jog. I have perfect blood pressure, and take a statin, and a prescription sleep medication. For the past few days I have had weakness in my legs, and am light headed from time to time. I got out of bed a couple of nights ago, and was so dizzy, that I fell into the closet.....almost like vertigo. Other than that, I feel great and stay quite active. Can you give me some guidance on whether this sounds like something serious?
