What Causes Weakness, Nausea, dry Mouth And Throat After Drinking Alocohol?
Hi, Last Friday I overindulged on a night out drinking and have been suffering hangover like symptoms ever since. I am exhausted, have not managed to sleep for more than 4 hours per day and have been slightly nauseaus all the time, more so for a few hours after eating something. I just know something is not right. Then today, I have also developed what can be described as a lump in my throat, on the right side which makes my tongue feel slightly numb and makes swallowing uncomfortable and my mouth and throat are constantly dry. Are these symptoms of something I should be worried about?
One bout of heavy drinking usually won't have such effects. It is possible that it aggravated an existing 'acidity' problem. Your symptoms suggest an acid peptic disease. You may benefit from a class of medicines called Proton Pump Inhibitors (eg pantoprazole). Dry mouth and lump in throat can be due to anxiety. In my opinion, you should see a psychiatrist if you have any anxiety or sadness. If your symptoms worsen you should seek medical consultation. I hope I have answered your question.
