What Causes Weakness, Sweating, And Inability To Stand Up, After Oral Surgery ?

Yesterday I had oral surgery to remove an infected tooth, everything went fine. After I got home I slept almost all day and didn't eat much, wasn't hungry. This morning I had a very strange episode, I was going to an event at my grand daughters school. was going into the gym, started feeling very weak and sweating profusely, I almost couldn't stand up, drank some water but still felt horrible. I didn't want to cause a scene so I told my husband we needed to leave, I had a very difficult time getting to our car. I do have problems with type 2 diabetes but after I got to our car, I laid down and went to sleep. I didn't eat anything. After about 30 minutes I woke up and felt better. It was so strange. I also had a lot of stomach gas but it went away...

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain weakness, sweating and inability to stand up on the next day of oral surgery can be most probably a side effect of medication that you might be taking post surgery while as you are already known diabetic there is a possibility that the blood sugar levels have gone low leading to the symptoms..

So my suggestion is to take the symptoms seriously and consult an Emergency room and get evaluated and a proper monitoring of blood sugar and blood pressure has to be done to rule out the exact cause and will be treated accordingly..

In case if it has happened due to side effect of medication then changing the medication can help..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
