hello doctor!! I recently quit smoking. I smoked for 5 years 5-10 cigs a day. Its been 3 months since I quit. I'm feeling healthier now, but i have gained 4 kgs in just 3 months. Just the regular diet and workout I used to do. Is this normal or is there anything that can be done?
It is common for people to gain some weight after quitting smoking. Tobacco is known to cause weight loss by reducing appetite and causing some metabolic changes. Please do not worry. Just keep a check on your diet and continue exercise as before. I do not expect any further weight gain.
Best wishes.
