Hi, I am a 30 year old female. Over the past year and a half, especially past 6 months, I have been rapidly gaining weight, with no increase in diet. My thyroid levels are normal. The only thing recent blood tests have uncovered is an elevated ESR level (44). My doctor told me this elevated level is because of weight gain, however I cannot understand why I am gaining weight in the first place.

What Causes Weight Gain And Elevated ESR Levels?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Increased ESR means infection in the body. Find the cause of increased ESR. Check your CBC and get tuberculosis test, if needed. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Sheetal Agarwal
