What Causes Weight Gain And Nausea Despite Using Nexplanon?
I have been have pregnancy symptoms, such as craving, gaining weight, nausea, and I ve been feeling a pulse in my stomach like a heartbeat and been getting light kicks here and there. I m on birth control (nexplonon) . I m afraid I might be pregnant, I also had a baby 9 months ago.
I can understand your concern. As you are using Nexplanon for birth control, chances are nil that you may get pregnant. In addition, gaining weight, nausea and cravings are related with many other diseases than just pregnancy.
However, you should take a home pregnancy test with first urine of the morning. If that comes negative, we can rule out pregnancy as a cause of the symptoms you are having. Probably you are focusing too much on being pregnant and so feeling many of the symptoms.
Other possibility could be a gastrointestinal tract related disorder or hormonal disorder that need to be diagnosed based on the physical examination, blood work and further investigations. You should visit a physician for that examination and investigations. Treatment can be started after diagnosis is made for your symptoms.
I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Let me know if I can answer you any further question.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
