What Causes Weight Gain, Thigh Numbness And Abdominal Pain After Coronary Stenting?

Ever since a heart attack (with stent put in) in 2012, I ve gained over 30 lbs in my stomach area. Occasional numbing in my right thigh to my knee, but lately, that has been replaced by a sharp, debilitating pain in my upper left stomach area. Am thinking about going to the ER tomorrow.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The pain in our stomach area is concerning about something related to the heart or pancreas. For this reason, I recommend going to the ER for a physical exam, a resting ECG, cardiac enzymes and some other blood lab tests (complete blood count, amylase and lipase plasma levels, ESR, D-dimmer plasma levels, etc.).

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
