What Causes Weight Gain While On Concor Along With Ecosprin And Cilacar?

Am devi..have bp from the age of 32. And was on medication since then,now I am 55 and am on cilacar t and natrilix sr in the morning and cilacar t,concor 5 mg,ecospirin 75 mg,xtor 10 and restyl 0.25 mg in the night...off late I am gaining weight after my doctor gave concor 5 mg for anxiety..as it is I am obese and weigh 93 kgs ...I am worried ..pls help

Hi,

Side effect of concor. Based on the history weight gain seems to be due to side effect of concor. Concor is a heart-selective beta blocker which is used for various conditions including anxiety. Apart from causing fatigue, decreased heartbeats, decreased blood pressure it can also cause weight gain which appears to be due to accumulation of abdominal fat resulting from altered carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. Ask your doctor for an alternate effective but a safer drug for anxiety.
