What Causes Weight Gain While On Progesterone And Estrogen?

I have been on HRT for about 6 weeks now. Progesterone 2oomg, Estrogen 0.5 mg, testosterone cream 10 mg and DHEA 20 mg. The only thing I have felt differently is my hot flashes are pretty much gone( I get one now and then) and my dizziness has gone away. I have gained weight (7 pds in one month) my body (joints and muscles) feel the same or even worse!!! I still have 6 more weeks to go before I go back and have my blood retested to see where I am at, it takes 3 months for saturation. Any suggestions for me?

Hi,

Many women believe that taking HRT will make them put on weight, but there's no evidence to support this claim.

You may gain some weight during the menopause, and this often happens regardless of whether you take HRT or not.

One possibility for weight gain could be caused due to progesterone intake, which will cause fluid and water retention.

Exercising regularly and eating a healthy diet should help you to lose any unwanted weight.

Kindly follow the instructions as given and do the necessary follow-up as advised.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
