What Causes Weight Gain While On Tramadol?

I am currently taking 200 mg of Tramadol daily and have noticed definite weight gain. I exercise daily and haven t changed my diet at all. It s almost like I m on prednisone! Can you tell me why? I m talking a pound every 2 days or so. Thanks, Maggie

Hi.

There is no directly observed side effect of weight gain with tramadol use, but tramadol can have a number of other side effects which can culminate in weight gain like weakness, lethargy, pains and aches restricting exercise and physical activity, etc. So althougj not directly, but weight gain is possible.
