General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Many factors can contribute to weight gain while on antidepressants. Antidepressants interfere with serotonin, one of the neurotransmitter in the brain which will increase the appetite and cause over eating and thus leads to weight gain, it should also be noted that depression can lead to fatigue and inactivity, and a lack of physical activity can cause weight gain. If you practice relaxation techniques like yoga or involve physical games, it can be controlled to an extent.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
